Maintenance Troubleshooting

Before arranging a maintenance call-out, please take a moment to review the list of common tenant issues below. We've provided helpful tips on how to fix or prevent these problems, aiming to make your experience as smooth and convenient as possible.

No Power/No Lights/PowerPoints Not Working 

  1. Check the Safety Switch:

    • The safety switch in the fuse/meter box might have been activated. Try resetting it.

  2. Inspect Your Appliances:

    • Unplug all appliances and turn off all power points.

    • Reset the safety switch.

    • Plug in and turn on one appliance (e.g., your fridge). If the safety switch trips again, the appliance is likely faulty and needs repair. Repeat this step with other appliances if necessary.

  3. Test Power Points:

    • Plug the appliance into a different PowerPoint to determine if the issue is with the appliance or the PowerPoint.

  4. Check Light Bulbs:

    • If lights are not working, a bulb may have blown. Replace the bulb and try the light again.

  5. Possible Power Outage:

    • If the problem persists, your street might be experiencing a temporary interruption. Contact your electricity provider.

  6. Townhouse or Apartment Complex:

    • If you live in a townhouse or apartment, the issue might affect the entire complex. Check with a neighbour, and if it's a complex-wide issue, contact the Body Corporate manager (contact details are usually near the letterbox or front of the complex).​

Note: If an electrician is called out and the issue is due to a faulty appliance, you will be invoiced for the call-out.
